Forget toys, this is the building that comes to life at night. Graphic designer Daniel Rossa posed the question “How would it be, if a house was dreaming?” and he answered on the exterior walls of the Hamburg Kunsthalle. His 555 Kubik Projection breathed life into the simple facade while simultaneously complimenting it. That’s one of things I love most about this piece is that it was so site specific. The projection is rather meaningless anywhere else. “The Basic idea of narration was to dissolve and break through the strict architecture of O. M. Ungers “Galerie der Gegenwart”.” states Rossa on his website.
Rossa partnered with Urbanscreen, a company that specializes in producing custom media installations using large-scale projection. They “put architecture on stage” and have even developed their own procedure called Lumentektur. Urbanscreen’s clientele ranges from artists to automobile companies. Watch the video on 555 Kubik Projection which I think is an auditory and visual delight.
